I bought these last minute, mostly because of the reviews and was afraid I might not like them, but I ended up liking them very much. This is a casual but versatile set. The dishes were packed well, a box within another box, within another box, plenty of cardboard between each dish. I expected to find a few flaws or chips or bumps in the glaze, but I found none. Colour is not as white as the picture shows, more of a stock card manilla cream colour - and they feel good to touch, smooth,glossy,and light weight for stoneware. I am glad I made the purchase, they are nice to have. The size of the bowls are large, and work for pasta, salads, cereal, soup, even vegetable servings. The dinner plates are 11 1/4" in diameter, fairly normal sized dinner plate, had no issue fitting in my cupboard.

A recent kitchen remodel left me with the urge to replace my old worn out Corelle dinnerware with a new set of every day dishes. After months and months of looking, I discovered Italian Countryside at Bed, Bath & Beyond, however they were selling the set that came with the cup and saucer. Disappointed, I went online and was delighted to discover that through Amazon I could purchase this pattern with just the mugs. My order was at my front doorstep three days later, in perfect condition - all 16. And I just, love, love, love this pattern. The dishes are delicate enough to be used for fancier meals, but sturdy enough for everyday use. They aren't as heavy as the Fiestaware that I was considering getting before seeing this pattern. I am so glad that I went with this pattern. The only thing I would point out is that the soup dishes might be a little too large for many people when it comes to using them for cereal bowls. My husband loves the larger size, but I find them too big. I solved that problem by getting the fruit saucers that are a perfect size for a serving of cereal in the morning. The smaller size is also perfect for a bowl of ice cream. This is a classic pattern that I think will look lovely for many years to come.
